It’s based on each individual.  Typical results are 5-15 pounds initially with various reductions afterwards.

What if I miss taking an injection?
Take the injection the next morning. Then return to regular schedule.

What do I do if the pill makes nauseated?
Cut your dosage in ½ and make sure you take the medication with food.

I have diabetes and high blood pressure. Does that mean I don’t qualify?
No. Your condition requires close followup but weight loss will benefit both problems! Many conditions are cured or dramatically improved with weight loss.

Are these pills habit-forming?
They can be. But evidence over the years shows that, although they have that potential, the actual rate of dependency is extremely low.

Does any of this medication cause cancer?
There is no evidence that the medications cause cancer. Should you have a cancer it is wise to check with a cancer specialist to determine the safety of any medications, especially hormones, you could be taking.

HCG is a hormone. What kind of hormone is it?
It is NOT a male or female hormone like estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone, which are “steroid” hormones. HCG is a protein hormone, and is made by the placenta during pregnancy. It has no steroid effects.

Can I get pregnant from the shots?
No. HCG has minimal stimulant effects on the female ovaries. It IS used in high doses along with other medications to increase fertility, but the doses we use are very small in comparison.

Does any of this medication interfere with medication I am taking?
Rarely. Your medications will be reviewed for potential interactions, but these medications have very low potential for interaction with other medications, other than caffeine and other stimulants, which can increase heart rate and cause heart rhythm disturbances. Avoid caffeine, decongestants, other diet pills (even OTC).

I already don’t eat much at all. How can diet pills help me, since I don’t have much of an appetite?
You may not need diet pills at all. Diet training may be all that you need, since undereating also causes weight gain. However, sometimes diet pills used in the right way can increase your metabolism and can help curb bad food cravings.

What do I do when I reach my goal? Do you drop me?
It is actually more important to maintain a healthy weight than it is to lose, if you’re just going to regain. For that reason, we have a maintenance program to allow you to use medication, diet advice, and weigh-ins until you can maintain on your own. The timing is individualized.

The pills cause me not to sleep at all. They make me nervous and jittery. Does this mean I can’t do the program?
No. This means you can’t do that particular medicine. If a reduced dose doesn’t help, we have other medications that are more “user-friendly” if you have side effects. A small percentage of people cannot tolerate the first medication.

Does the medication show up in a drug screen?
Not usually, since it is not an amphetamine. Since it is a prescription medication, you could inform the employer of any prescription medications you may be taking, including this one. We have rarely had any clients who have had problems with that issue.

If I get pregnant, what should I do?
If this happens while on the program, stop all program medications and retest yourself in about a week. The pregnancy test can be falsely positive using HCG. If you are actually pregnant, all you need to do is stop the program and let us know.

I lost my diet pills. Can you replace them?
Sorry, we can’t since they are controlled substances, and we can’t refill them until the normal time interval has passed.

I left the shots out in my car all night. Are they still good?
The HCG shots need to be refrigerated; they may be OK if not cloudy, so put in very cold refrigeration. The danger is in bacterial contamination, which can cause you to have a skin infection, and the bacteria will destroy the hormone.

I can come only every 3 months because I live out of state.
We make arrangements based on your individual situation, but usually we work something out for those who absolutely cannot come in as often as every month.

What if I can’t take stimulants?
We have several appetite suppressants and metabolism stimulators that are not stimulants to help you lose weight quickly. Nutrilean is a product that is designed to increase metabolism and suppress appetite. 5-HTP helps with sweets cravings, and helps control eating of foods ‘just because they are there.’ Diucaps also help with ‘head hunger’ and metabolism, and can be taken in the evening also.

I have to be on a gluten-free diet. What are my options with weight loss?
Many of our products are gluten-free; also many if not most of the foods you can eat and lose weight are gluten-free. If protein is your challenge, check out our Resources page for links to gluten-free foods.
